Bird Watercolor Art, Cedar Waxwing on Florida Aspen
Bird Watercolor Art, Cedar Waxwing on Florida Aspen
The image of this Cedar Waxwing provides a good look at his multiple colorations. There’s a yellow tip on his tail; red feathers peeking out on his rump; soft browns and tans overall complemented by the yellow under-body, and, of course, his jaunty black mask.
Your space should reflect who you are and what you care about. Adding a pop of color to your walls is an easy way to inject some personality into any room and put a smile on your face.

More Information...
This attractive bird was part of a large party of Waxwings on a migration journey. The perch is a branch of a Florida Aspen, or Chinese Tallow Tree. The reference to Aspen comes from the leaves turning rich red and golds at certain times of the year.

A Note About My Technique: I’m a digital artist. This product is part of my Digital Watercolor Series. For these works, I start with a photograph I’ve taken of an animal or scene. Then I use software (usually Adobe Photoshop) to manipulate the image. In this series, I work to give it the look of a watercolor painting. My process is much more involved than simply applying a filter like you can do with a phone app. It requires multiple steps and processes. My goal is always to create work that appeals to my audience because it reflects the joy and beauty and peace we find in nature. I’m happy to use any imaging tool available to achieve that end.
