Here’s a digital watercolor of a small, wide-eyed screech owl. He’s a tenant in a hole most likely created originally by a woodpecker. Many nature lovers have a special place in their hearts for owls.

More Information...

This wide-eyed Screech Owl is one of my favorite images. I keep a print in my office.
I was bird watching early one evening when he suddenly popped his head out and started watching me back. You haven’t been watched until you’ve been the object of an owl’s stare. I quietly snapped a couple of reference photos and took my leave. As I slipped out of the pine barren, I gave him one last look. Yep, he still had eyes on me.
You’re ordering a museum-quality print made on thick matte paper. (Please note: Frame is not included. Any frames show in images are for the purpose of illustrating how the print might be displayed.)

This product is made especially for you as soon as you place an order, which is why it takes us a bit longer to deliver it to you. Making products on demand instead of in bulk helps reduce overproduction, so thank you for making thoughtful purchasing decisions!

A Note About My Technique: I’m a digital artist. This product is part of my Digital Watercolor Series. For these works, I start with a photograph I’ve taken of an animal or scene. Then I use software (usually Adobe Photoshop) to manipulate the image. In this series, I work to give it the look of a watercolor painting. My process is much more involved than simply applying a filter like you can do with a phone app. It requires multiple steps and processes. My goal is always to create work that appeals to my audience because it reflects the joy and beauty and peace we find in nature. I’m happy to use any imaging tool available to achieve that end.
